OTTAWA — A protest by hundreds of students led organizers to cancel a Tuesday night speech by American conservative commentator Ann Coulter at the University of Ottawa.

A spokesman for the organizers said Coulter was advised against appearing after about 2,000 "threatening" students crowded the entrance to Marion Hall, posing a security threat.

"It would be physically dangerous for Ann Coulter to proceed with this event," said conservative political activist Ezra Levant inside the hall. "This is an embarrassing day for the University of Ottawa and their student body . . . who chose to silence her through threats and intimidation."

Democracy is when the overwhelming majority of citizens, as well as doctors and nurses, support a public option, and then the Democrats, in total control, after supporting the public option during their campaigns, throw it out the window and give the insurance companies even more power than they already had.

Welcome to America.

from harper's weekly review:

Virginia Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, joined the Tea Party movement. "She is intrigued by Glenn Beck," read a bio posted on her website, "and listening carefully."

The Texas State Board of Education voted to revise its social-studies curriculum, mandating that the U.S. government should not be called "democratic," deeming the term "capitalism" pejorative, and replacing Thomas Jefferson with Thomas Aquinas and John Calvin.

Democrats predicted that they would pass healthcare reform by reconciliation next week, with the House voting on the Senate bill this Friday or Saturday. Opponents of the bill, led by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, were expected to spend as much as $30 million in advertising targeting vulnerable House Democrats.

[1. This is money to block a bill that has no public option, no single payer option. 2. Does this mean opponents of the Health Care Bill are proponents of Health Care for the non elites? No. 3. Where does the U.S. Chamber of Commerce get it's money?]

Senate Democrats also introduced a modest finance-reform bill that failed to include provisions for an independent consumer-protection agency; in a concession to
Republicans, against the advice of members of the Fed's own Consumer Advisory Council, the bill would make the agency a part of the Federal Reserve.

[So, let me get this straight. By military force, you will take a third of all my money, give a third to over-sized criminal banks, take a third for your own fat ass, and give the rest to a new agency that's part of the privatized Federal Reserve - the very people we need protection from?]

WAY TO GO YOU FUCKING COCKSUCKERS!!! YOU ARE SO SOLID!!! GETTING THE JOB DONE!!!
